In 2006 – 2014 1.136 mln. euro has been allocated in our country. It was used for the economic, cultural and scientific development. The main idea of the allocation of funds by the Norwegian government is to reduce the economic disparities between the donor State and the Beneficiary State.
Mr. Kjell Arne Nielsen made an assessment of our political and economic cooperation. He stressed that trade is growing very rapidly, but there is still a possibility of its further growth. We are currently in 11th place among Norway’s trading partners. Export to Poland represents 1.6% of total Norwegian export and import from Poland represents 2.4% of total Norwegian import. Our country is one of the largest markets for Norwegian fishes. Most of the Norwegian fishes are processed in Poland and exported by Polish companies to other European countries. Defense industries co-operation between both countries is also going very well. Our companies – Lotos and PGNiG – have their own significant shares in investments at the Norwegian North Sea.

Among those present at the meeting was Mr. Marek Chojnacki, Pole running in Stavanger a medium-sized Polish construction company – NORPOLSA. He has especially arrived from Norway for this meeting. In Poland, there are registered more than 300 companies with Norwegian capital. They are in the vast majority small and medium-sized companies. There is more than 100 thousands of Poles living in Norway. In Poland, however, studies nearly 1400 young Norwegians, mainly in the fields of medicine.

After the onset, our guest complied interesting discussion lasting more than two hours. There were also established contacts, which should lead to increase in trade cooperation.

Przemysław Talkowski journalist and the author of the television program, “Państwo w Państwie “- guest of the European Business Club Poland.

„Państwo w Państwie” is a television program, that reveals the abuse of law, corruption and nepotism between the state and the businessperson. The screenplay of each episode revolves around a particularly bright event of lawless officials, the inertia at work of the Polish judicature. This often results in the company’s and the businessperson’s bankruptcy and the loss of jobs by the employees. A two-hour long and very interesting meeting, filled with interesting examples of problems faced by Polish businesspeople, judicature and descriptions of the bureaucratic incompetence. During the discussion, members of the Club offered numerous examples that could be topics of future programs. Thanking Mr. Talkowski for the truth about the absurdities of economic life and frequent violations of the business peoples’ rights, the European Business Club Poland> expresses its deepest appreciation that people finally began to talk about these issues – professionally and honestly.

Meeting with Ambassador of Moldova at the European Business Club Poland.

Spotkanie z Ambasadorem Republiki MołdawiiOn October 4, 2013, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Poland – His Excellency Iurie Bodrug was a guest of the European Business Club – Poland, at the invitation of the President of the Association Mr. Janusz Cieślak. The meeting took place at the hotel – restaurant “Black Cat” – “My Warsaw Residence”.

Moldova is a small country which does not have access to the sea and is located in the south-eastern part of Europe. Situated in the warm temperate zone of the characteristics of continental climate. Ambassador emphasized very rural nature of his country and its main natural wealth- fertile soil. As many as 75% of the country are chernozems. As a result, perfectly manages to viticulture and production of fine wines, wines that are on the tables of kings.
Relations between our country and Moldova have a long tradition. Who knows what would have taken the fate of Polish-Teutonic Knights conflict, if not loan granted in 1388 by the then ruler of Moldova – Peter I Muszata to King Jagiello,  secured on Pokuttya.

In fact, it is not known whether Moldova already then produced as fine wines as those presented at the meeting by Ambassador Iurie Bodrug. Moldova and Poland are trying to improve the business environment and operating conditions for entrepreneurs, which should help companies of both countries to intensify trade cooperation. Funds and activities related to the Eastern Partnership will probably increase our presence in this market through common projects inenergy, food, transport infrastructure, communications sectors.

Poland is also a proponent of Moldova’s future membership in the EU. Recently the number of Polish companies interested in cooperation with Moldova increased expressly. Currently Polish export to Moldova is dominated by mechanical and electrical equipment, and import from Moldova by prepared food, soft drinks, alcohol (including wine) and vinegar and tobacco.

In 2011, in Moldova was registered 57 companies with Polish capital.
So far, Polish investments relate mainly to construction, manufacturing, trade, and more recently, construction services, transportation and job placement. In 2011, the Polish company also explored the possibility of investing in the construction, ceramics, furniture, waste disposal and construction of small heating plants.

As can be seen, there are prospects and opportunities for strong growth in bilateral trade and the growth of Polish investments in Moldova. These issues will be discussed, i.a. by representatives of our businesses taking part in the official visit of President Bronislaw Komorowski in Kishinev in December of this year.

Croatia – a small country with an ambitious investment program, a guest of the European Business Club – Poland

Spotkanie z ambasadorem Chorwacji

Emerald sea, beaches, monuments, good wines and landscapes – direction of tourist travels for thousands of Poles. On a daily basis we do not realize, that nearly four and a half million nation, which involves our Slavic roots and soon will join the European community have recently experienced serious economic problems.

According to preliminary estimates, Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) Croatian GDP in 2011, rose by 0.2% compared to 2010. It was the first, although a small increase in GDP since 2008. Still strong support to the economy is tourism. Last year, Croatia was visited by 11.5 million people. These are just some of the data from Mr. Ivan Del Vecchio, Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, which was a visitor at the invitation of the President of the European Business Club – Poland Janusz Cieślak.

During the meeting at the hotel – restaurant “Black Cat – My Warsaw Residence” Ambassador Ivan Del Vecchio answered a series of questions, outlined the scope and scale of bilateral trade and investment opportunities.

Although the value of Polish export in 2011 exceeded supply from countries such as the Netherlands, Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Spain, still does not reflect the real potential of both countries. Well, the most important information concerning the Croatian strategic plan projects. It will be a kind of Croatian “New Deal “, whose main task will be the development and growth – warm-up of the Croatian economy.

One of the most interesting facts is the basis of the public – private partnership plan (PPP). Already have been presented investment projects which will be implemented over the next three years in the PPP, They are: public buildings, schools, courts, prisons, museums, theaters and a complex of government buildings on the bank of the river Sava.

The financing of these projects would come from the EU structural funds, as well as from the renowned international financial institutions, of which the government. Polish enterpreneurs were invited to cooperate in the implementation of these projects.

For example, in the construction of schools, it is assumed that the private partner will build a school, and later will be renting it for 25 years.
According to the PPP, county – Żupania (province), the city or the municipality uphold will share costs according to the formula: 55% state, 35% Żupania and 10% municipality or city. Thus is it worth to use the Croatian experience in the implementation of PPPs, in particular, as pointed out during a recent visit to Warsaw of Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic – in Croatia PPP exists in tenders, especially for large infrastructure projects as the construction of railway lines and the expansion of port terminals.
Ambasador does not live with only economy. Mutual wishes for both national football teams testify to the fact. Croatian guest wished Polish team only winning matches in the upcoming European Championships in football and for the two teams to meet in the final of the tournament.

Far and near Vietnam at the European Business Club – Poland

Spotkanie z ambasadorem Wietnamu

What connects Poland and Vietnam ?

What are the opportunities and challenges currently facing one of the most “European” Asian tigers, distant geographically and culturally, but very close to us?

Three times higher economic growth than in Poland, and 18% inflation, these are some of the macroeconomic data, which were presented by His Excellency the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Poland Nguyễn Hoằng  during a meeting with members of the European Business Club.

Ambassador Nguyen Hoang presented gathered members of the club issues related to the development of the economy of Vietnam, the state of bilateral trade relations and opportunities for business contacts with the homeland of Ho Chi Minh .

It is worth remembering that Poland and the Poles have very many friends in Vietnam, not only among the hundreds of Vietnamese graduates of Polish universities – stressed Ambassador fluently in Polish language. Good opinion about Poland, its economy and citizens – make up an extremely friendly atmosphere for business development between both countries. In Vietnam, there are many different types of economic zones offering advantages in business, especially procedural – for foreign investors. Good possibilities of economic cooperation are also a reflection of the state of bilateral relations in the political sphere, for example in terms of mutual support in the efforts to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Many of the questions addressed Mr. Nguen Hoang influenced the development of tourist relations with Vietnam, as well as the possible extension of trade and direct investment. In these fields is still much to be done. Vietnamese guest declared specific support in these areas.
