On the eve of the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development (Engineers’ Day), 3 March 2023, a scientific and technical conference on the contribution of Polish engineers to the development of civilisation, taking into account humanistic aspects, was held at the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Warsaw House of Technician<\/span><\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

organised by the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Polish Federation of Engineering Associations<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em>. Janusz Cieslak, President of the European Business Club Poland, participated in the celebrations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The celebration the World Engineering Day was honoured with the presentation of state awards. From the hands of Andrzej Dera, the Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland, they were awarded to: President of NOT Ewa Ma\u0144kiewicz-Cudny \u2013 the Commander’s Cross\u00a0Order of Polonia Restituta, and Adam Wi\u015bniewski \u2013 Officer’s Cross\u00a0of Polonia Restituta.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The World Engineering Day is a celebration of the creators of technology. During the conference, outstanding creators of technology were honoured with the titles: Distinguished, Silver, Gold and Diamond Engineer of <\/span><\/span><\/span>Przegl\u0105d Techniczny<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span> (Technical Review) \u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span>the oldest magazine on technical topics in Poland and Europe that has been published since 1866. For 29 years, the readers of the <\/span><\/span><\/span>Przegl\u0105d Techniczny<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span> have been awarding these highly respected titles to the technical community.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Richly illustrated with presentations documenting innovative solutions, the papers were delivered by:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 dr hab. in\u017c. Mariusz Sochacki, <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ph.D., D.Sc<\/span><\/span><\/span> Microsystem and Electronic Material Technology Division Director <\/span><\/span><\/span>in the Institute of Microelectronics and Optoeletronics at Warsaw University of Technology, with a presentation \u201cContribution of Polish technology developers to sustainable development. Modern semiconductor technologies \u2013 optimising the use of electricity\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 prof. dr hab. in\u017c. Piotr Wola\u0144ski from <\/span><\/span><\/span>Institute of Heat Engineering,<\/span><\/span><\/span> Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering and <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 Institute of Aviation with a\u00a0presentation \u201cPolish Contribution to Space Research\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 prof. dr hab. in\u017c. Janusz Wojtkowiak, Director of Institute\u00a0of Environmental Engineering and Building Installations in the Faculty of Environmental Engineering And Energy\u00a0at Pozna\u0144 University of Technology with a presentation \u201cThe Future of Polish Energy: atom, renewable energy sources and hydrogen\u201d.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 mgr in\u017c. Wies\u0142aw Paluszy\u0144ski, President of the Polish Information Processing Society, who addressed the topic of \u201cArtificial intelligence <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span>threat or development”.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
