On 10 January 2023. PKOL President Andrzej Kra\u015bnicki was honoured with the Order of the Rising Sun \u2013 Golden Rays with Rosette, by the Japanese Ambassador to Poland Akio Mijajima.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This decoration awarded in Japan is the third most important order after the Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum and the Order of the Paulownia Flowers, and before the Order of the Sacred Treasure. It was established on 10 April 1875 by Emperor Mutsuhito (Meiji).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The award was presented during the New Year’s Meeting of the Olympic Family, which, at the invitation of the President of the Polish Olympic Committee, Andrzej Kra\u015bnicki, was attended by the President of the European Business Club Poland, Janusz Cieslak<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Before the 2021 Olympics in Tokyo, thanks to the initiative of President Andrzej Kra\u015bnicki, agreements were signed with Japanese cities that hosted athletes from Poland. While presenting the award, the Japanese Ambassador said: <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em> \u201c<\/span><\/span><\/span>I am delighted to be able to award Mr Andrzej Kra\u015bnicki with the Order of the Rising Sun <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em>Golden Rays with Rosette. President Kra\u015bnicki is actively involved in popularising the Olympic spirit and strengthening Polish-Japanese relations… The whole world is impressed by the great heart and goodwill of the Polish people. Please accept my regards\u201d <\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span>he added. <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em>The Olympic Games are a symbol of peace. Sport has a great power to change the world and the future. I believe in the success of the Olympics in Paris and in renewed peace in Ukraine. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Japan also stands in solidarity with Ukraine. Japan and Poland are two countries of flourishing friendship.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We would like to emphasize that the President of the Polish Olympic Committee Andrzej Kra\u015bnicki is the laureate of the European Business Club Poland’s Victoria Europae <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2013 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/em>European Victoria award, given <\/span><\/span><\/span>in recognition of his many years of work to strengthen the position of Polish sport in the world and to promote the Olympic idea and the fair play virtues.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
