It was established in 1904 as a club at the 4<sup>th<\/sup> Grammar School in Lvov. In the mid-war period, it was one of the best award-winning Polish football clubs. The best sport achievements of Pogo\u0144 Lw\u00f3w before the war were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>4 times football Poland champion (1922, 1923, 1925, 1926)<\/li>\n<li>3 times football Poland vice-champion (1932, 1933, 1935)<\/li>\n<li>Non-official Poland Championship: 1924<\/li>\n<li>U-19 Junior Poland Championship: 2nd place in 1937<\/li>\n<li>Galicia Championship: 3rd place in 1913<\/li>\n<li>Ice-hockey Poland Championship: 1st place: 1933<\/li>\n<li>2nd place: 1929, 1930<\/li>\n<li>3rd place: 1927<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 1938 the Polish Sports Associations awarded the Pogo\u0144 Lw\u00f3w Club with the title \u201cThe\u00a0 best and the most deserved sport club in Poland\u201d.\u00a0 The initiative of the Polish youth integration for sport was established in Lvov in 2007. The first football trainings started in the sport hall at the Lvov Medical University. In October 2009, thanks to efforts of the young Polish people living and studying in Lvov and thanks to support by the General Consulate of Poland in Lvov, the Lvov Pogo\u0144 Sport Club was reactivated.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/?attachment_id=2865\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2865\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2865\" src=\"https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/72660.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"581\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/72660.jpg 581w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/72660-300x170.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 581px) 100vw, 581px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The aim of the club is to work in Lvov, where Polish have lived for generations. The club policy is dedicated to education of young people, talented players, to make them stay in Lvov. <strong>The club members are proud of what is written in Polish language on their T-shirts, which is the original pre-war name \u201cPogo\u0144 Lw\u00f3w\u201d that after seventy years came back to the pitches in Lvov.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Pogo\u0144 club is a Polish club and it plays as such in the Ukrainian sport world. Last year the senior team (finished the season 2017 with the 6<sup>th<\/sup> place in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> football league \u2013 the fourth level) and the junior team won the 1<sup>st<\/sup> place in the junior 3<sup>rd<\/sup> league and it won the Junior Cup of Lvov District. Moreover, the Pogo\u0144 club organizes a football tournament \u201cPolish Amateur League\u201d with participation of amateur teams set up in Polish houses, catholic churches and schools in the Lvov district. There has been a Football School for children, acting within the Club for seven years, which is really popular.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As the reputed mid-war brand, the club is often invited to tournaments and friendly games with the most popular football clubs in Poland and Ukraine. In the last few years the team won friendly games with, among others, Cracovia, Korona Kielce, Warta Pozna\u0144, Podbeskidzie, Stal Mielec and Polonia Bytom, Resovia, \u0141KS, Korona Kielce, Pogo\u0144 Siedlce.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/?attachment_id=2866\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2866\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2866\" src=\"https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/CO_PL_2018.08.18_POGON-LVIV-RAVA-RUSKA_1-3_Voloshyn_7454.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2835\" height=\"1890\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/CO_PL_2018.08.18_POGON-LVIV-RAVA-RUSKA_1-3_Voloshyn_7454.jpg 2835w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/CO_PL_2018.08.18_POGON-LVIV-RAVA-RUSKA_1-3_Voloshyn_7454-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/CO_PL_2018.08.18_POGON-LVIV-RAVA-RUSKA_1-3_Voloshyn_7454-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/CO_PL_2018.08.18_POGON-LVIV-RAVA-RUSKA_1-3_Voloshyn_7454-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2835px) 100vw, 2835px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Pogo\u0144 Football School is attended by children from Polish schools in Lvov and Latin churches. The school is free of charge, all expenditures are paid by the club. The Pogo\u0144 football players are raised in a sport and patriotic atmosphere, they have opportunities to travel to Poland, get to know the country of their ancestors and they take an active part in culture events in Lvov, continuously developing their football skills. Last year the youngest players (years 2008-2009) won the Steelworker Cup in Krak\u00f3w with participation of teams Wis\u0142a, Cracovia and Hutnik. An important event for the youngest players of the Pogo\u0144 club was the meeting with President of Poland Andrzej Duda during their training camp in Siedlce. The Pogo\u0144 players sang to President the anthem of \u201cPogo\u0144\u201d and told him about their daily activities in the club. The player get also involved in many events organized by the Polish groups in Lvov, through which they learn citizenship. The most important event this year was the annual action \u201eRemembrance Light for the \u0141yczakowski Cemetery\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/?attachment_id=2867\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2867\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2867 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Poranek-z-TVP-INFO-2-maja-2016-10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"3648\" height=\"2736\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Poranek-z-TVP-INFO-2-maja-2016-10.jpg 3648w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Poranek-z-TVP-INFO-2-maja-2016-10-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Poranek-z-TVP-INFO-2-maja-2016-10-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ekb.org.pl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/Poranek-z-TVP-INFO-2-maja-2016-10-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 3648px) 100vw, 3648px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The club tries to promote honourable Polish traditions in Lvov by get involved in many cultural initiatives such as organization of city games \u201cIn the streets of Lvov\u201d, co-operation with students organizations or the annual participation in the Latest Polish Movies Review \u201cUnder the High Castle\u201d. The Pogo\u0144 club players are social activists, if possible, they support amateur teams and Polish kindergartens and schools in the Lvov district. Since April 2017 they have been planning to re-establish another section \u2013 tourist, the club has been running the project \u201cPre-War tourist traditions \u2013 following the paths of the old Main Carpathian Route under the name of Marshall J\u00f3zef Pi\u0142sudski\u201d. Together with the Centre of Polish Culture and European Dialogue in Stanis\u0142aw\u00f3w with the support of the Consulate of Poland in Lvov it organizes one-day trips to the Carpathian Mountains to teach history and patriotism.\u00a0 In October 2017 during the Review of the Latest Polish Movies \u201cUnder the High Castle\u201d, the members of the club organized an exhibition \u201cThe Old Lvov Sport World: people and places\u201d, which was presented in Lvov, Zabrze, Katowice, Bytom, Tychy.
