Prof. G. Rydzewska

Prof. dr hab. med. Grażyna Rydzewska manages the Clinic of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology of the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in Warsaw. Since 1998 she has also been the deputy director for medical treatment at that hospital. She is a long-term national consultant in the field of gastroenterology.

Since 1985 she has been a co-researcher and head researcher in about 40 clinical research studies concerning the gastroesophageal reflux disease, IBS, IBD, peptic ulcer and other illnesses. She is a 2nd degree specialist in internal medicine and a 2nd degree specialist in gastroenterology. In 2014, she received the ”Good Clinical Practice” Certificate. Professor Rydzewska is particularly interested in proteolysis and anti-proteolysis in acute pancreatitis, experimental acute pancreatitis, pancreas regeneration, intracellular signal transduction in pancreatic cells, pathomechanism of inflammation development in acute pancreatitis and nonspecific enteritis, pain mechanism in IBS, Helicobacter pylori infection vs. dyspepsia and reflux disease. She is known for her engagement in actions for patients with enteritis. Prof. Grażyna Rydzewska created the National Register of people with Crohn’s disease. She initiated and runs the only clinic in Poland for treating enteritis. She is the President of the Polish Pancreas Club. She is the chief editor of “Przegląd Gastroenterologiczny”. She operates the website: www.elitarni.com.pl which is a compendium of knowledge broadly describing nonspecific enteritis, including Crohn’s disease. On the website, apart from purely theoretic information, a patient can find many practical tips on how to live and manage with intestinal diseases. The aim of the website is to make people with this illness regain faith in themselves in order to fulfil their dreams and passions, and live actively.

She is the Professor of the Świętokrzyska Academy (The Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce), a member of the Management Board of the Polish Pancreas Club, Vice President of PTG-E, a public health consultant of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration in the area of gastroenterology, a member of the Science Board in the “OnCOReview” journal, the editor in chief of the ”Problemy Lekarskie” magazine, Vice President of the Commission for Monitoring of Quality in Medical Services at the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, a member of the Therapeutic Committee at the CCH of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration and of the Ethical Commission at the CCH of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, since 2000 a member of the Commission for Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Clinical Pathophysiology at the Polish Academy of Sciences. She is a member of the International Association of Pancreatology, the European Pancreatic Club, the Polish Internal Medicine Physicians’ Association, the XXI Surgeons’ Club, the Polish Society of Gastroenterology.

Professor Grażyna Rydzewska says about herself: “In professional, as well as in private life, I put maximum energy into what I do. I am lucky because my work is at the same time my passion.” Professor Grażyna Rydzewska has been awarded many times for her professional and research activity by university authorities and the Ministry of Health for the series of works in the area of pancreatology, she also received the silver and gold Cross of Merit from the President of the Republic of Poland. In 2014, she received the title of Woman of Medicine 2014, obtaining the largest number of votes.
