Conference in the Prime Minister’s Office.

On the 23rd of March 2017 in the Prime Minister’s Office a Conference took place “ Integration of Europe- anniversary and new opening” which was organized by The Polish Institute of International Affairs and Prime Minister’s Office. The President of the European Business Club Poland – Janusz Cieślak took part in the Conference. In the invitation the organizers wrote: “The integration that begun after the Second World War assured Europe with many decades of peace, it also created favourable conditions for economic development and rules of democracy. However, in its anniversary year the European Union enters the time weakened by numerous episodes of crisis and division between member states. The future will bring new challenges connected with global safety, migrations, economic development, technological advancement. To meet those challenges the European Union must define once again its model of integration. It should be based on mutual business as well as on a variety of experience and identity of European nations.”

The opening of the Conference was conducted by Sławomir Dębski – Director of The Polish Institute of International Affairs. The speech on the issue of Polish activities in the European Union within the context of upcoming and necessary changes was given by Beata Szydło the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland.

The next part of the Conference consisted of three discussion panels:

  1. Crisis as a Chance. Europe in search of Nnew model of integration.
  2. Surrounded fortress or empire? Europe in the context of safety challenges.
  3. Competitive and social Europe. In search of new policy of economic growth.

Panel speakers from the left: Sławomir Dębski Director of PISM, Konrad Szymański Secretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Krzysztof Szczerski Secretary of State in the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland and Jarosław Pietras Director General in the General Secretariat of the Council of Europe.

During the third panel which was in the area of the economy Mr. Janusz Cieślak-President of the European Business Club Poland gave a speech. In his speech he mentioned the need to execute equal treatment of Polish entrepreneurs on all European Union markets.
